The other day I went out shooting with Aviva and got some fun shots of Murasaki Mura & a little beach just down the road from where we parked. It was both fun and educational…I learned a bit about my camera and a lot about hers, the Canon 5D, which she so graciously let me play with. Aside from the time it took for me to figure out (and remember) where all the important “things” were on the 5D (“Damn…I just upped shutter speed when I meant to open up the aperture. Aveeevvaaaa! Which dial is it again?!…”), it was fabulous. Here are some of my favorites:

I love that 16-35… I need a wide-angle lens. DJ…are you reading this?! I NEED a wide-angle lens.

Wide angle love.

The backside of one of the buildings at Murasaki Mura… I love that worn, run-down look.

The place is full of the most beautiful pathways lined by arching trees and these great old stone walls. What an awesome place this would be for wedding pictures!

I dig old gnarly trees and this place is FULL of them!

Murasaki Mura is full of little shops where you can create your own crafts…paint shisa dogs, create gel candles, make your own tea (THAT place was cool), create your own pottery, blow your own glass… this pic is from the little shop where you can paint your own bingata. Cool. I’m going back. I really want to do this.

It had rained earlier in the AM, so the ground and a lot of the foliage was still wet, which made the color really dark and deep.

How cute is this little guy…peeing. Cute! I think I need one for my future office… wouldn’t that be a conversation starter.

On the family side, all is well. Still no RIP or orders… I live in PCS-limbo-land. Will update you soon…
